*grins* I'll let you into a little secret, I'd been reading your LJ for a while before I friended you. I was interested in the uncensored comments about how I was running LbN :D And then of course I made you an ST and the rest is history :)

Us giggling helplessly the first time you came up to WGC for drinks. And talking about anything and everything. There was vast amounts of cider, as I dimly recall. We need to do that again. *nodsnods*

e) I am a Canadibrit. I'll be a Canadian forever 'cos that's where I was born and (predominantly) raised but I've lived here long enough to consider myself a bit of a 'Brit as well. What, I can't have both?

I fear the longest-term relationship I've ever had is my undying love of chocolate... or perhaps my Duran Duran fandom. ;-)

This is a little difficult to describe, because it's not a thing per se, but a way of talking, a certain dryness that often accompanies humour. I'm being vague, I know, because I have NO IDEA how to describe what I'm hearing, exactly :)

You're quiet in a group (I'm the same) but when you do talk, you always have something to say and you effortlessly keep a conversation going. I wish I could do that!

There was a meal with you and Mark at Belgo's that was a very enjoyable afternoon, as I recall :)

You don't rant as much about work as Mark does but....I get the feeling you're not happy. What would be your dream job?

c) Really?! It's actually quite weird hearing what other people think of you, sometimes. When it completely goes against how you see yourself. I know I'm quiet and won't talk for the sake of saying something, but it's interesting to hear that. Thank you. :)
d) We really should do that again some time, when you've got a bit more disposable cash hanging around. Alternatively, if you want to come visit, or fancy visitors, some time...
e) I think M says that he identifies strongly with his job, which is why he tends to rant about it so much. I don't do that quite so much, although don't ask how I do identify myself 'cos I don't have a clue, but you're probably right. I kinda fell into this through doing what seemed like a good idea at the time and, while it seemed to work well and kept me interested for a good long while, I'm not sure it's what I want to spent my time until retirement doing.
Dream job, though. I guess what I've started looking for is more meaning in what I do. What can I do that really has an impact on people. While you could probably argue that I help keep a business running, keeping people employed, and all that stuff, it's all a bit abstract. Something that has a more direct link to people. Counselling, maybe. I was looking into what you needed to become a nurse or paramedic, and am still half-thinking about retraining when the money worries here sort themselves out in a few years.
I've waffled a lot, but I'm not sure if I answered your question?
f) Sorry! I try to be quick posting at work, 'cos the office is open-plan and I can never remember where the image option is, so that's my excuse for daytime posts. Otherwise I just tend to forget that they're there.
