That was a lovely dinner, even if I say it as shouldn't - good quality sausages, cooked until the skin was all sticky, with a salad of mixed leaves and a warm potato salad I made myself out of some new potatoes, spring onions, grated emmenthal and mayo. MmmmMMMMmmmm :) I have leftoevers so I shall do the same again tomorrow. *anticipates happily*
Work was so quiet today *sighs like a happy mousey* I don't mean I wasn't busy, I was, just that it was quiet. Foghorn kept saying she thought people were depressed and I had to keep biting my tongue to prevent myself from blurting out something like "Why on earth would I be depressed?" :P It looks like my job role will be changing a bit soon - I do hope so. I already KNOW how to do scut work, enough of it already. I was trying to think of a tactful way of bringing the subject up with TooBrightTies but having read the bombshell that got handed to someone on my flist today ("You're lovely but we don't want you to work here anymore, bye!"), I think the smart thing is to shut up and keep doing the tongue-bitey.
Talking of TooBrightTies, want a laugh? He was off work yesterday, we heard he'd got a cut hand and had gone to A&E. I was fully expecting him to come in this morning with a bandaged paw, given that when he phoned last night, he sounded stoned. Well he was in today but the only bandage was one around his middle finger...I'm now wondering how bad this cut actually was or if he's being a typical male "What's a deep cut to you is a fatal wound to me!" I resisted the urge to ask him if he wanted a sling :D
Wimbledon is disappointing me this year, or at least the women's singles are. I don't think there's a single person left in the women's draw I give a toss about. Damn Henin-Hardenne for retiring, drat Davenport for withdrawing, blast Mauresmo for not being fully fit and going out to a Williams! *grouses* On the plus side, the men's draw looks great still, even though we've lost Djokovic, who I really wanted to win it, and Roddick, who I also like. However, Safin's interesting, Murray's still in it, Nadal could yet make this his year, Fed's always great value and Hewitt is good fun. I'm seriously contemplating pulling a sickie so I can watch Fed v. Hewitt next round. Now THAT'S going to be a match and a half!

Over here, A&E is a cable channel, and used to stand for Arts & Entertainment, before it became the Law & Order channel.
