mitchy at 09:56pm on 11/10/2008 under blue peter at 50...just been watching a programme on 50 years of Blue Peter. It was the bit about all the appeals and the money they've raised that started me off :P Did ya know that over the years, they've raised today's equivalent of £100 million? That's phenomenal. I can remember collecting milk bottle tops and caps and stamps and whatnot and proudly sending it off. Good to know that's still continuing.
Anyway, damn allergies. *sniffles*
(US types on my flist won't understand why Blue Peter is such a big deal. I'm not sure I can explain and do it justice but basically it's a children's programme that features everything from topical news stories to how to make things to silly skits to whatever. It's been on air for 50 years and there are few people in the UK who don't remember watching it as kids or are watching it now. It's an institution and damn it all, it's a good one :) )
