There are few things that bring sudden, absolute contentment as having a warm, purring cat curled up on you, demanding fuss and attention.

...a whining, sulking, wailing furball that takes up the entire bed for sixteen hours and then howls the place down when you try and, heaven forbid, take away your own blanket to keep yourself warm as evening creeps in.
