I am so friggin' bored. *stares at invoices, feels will to live slipping* There's a couple of jobs of interest in this week's jobs bulletin and I'm going to apply just for the sake of my sanity.

And I really must do some research on what options exist for moving to the USA, even if it's just for a short period. I suspect the answer is "very few" but I must look into it, for the sake of my sanity again, if nothing else.

This reminds me of when I was revising for my French O'Level. I used to practice verb tenses thus: "Je Bored, tu bored, il bored, elle bored, nous bordons, vous bordez, ils bored, elles bored" :P (I failed the O'Level....)
Mood:: 'bored' bored

Damn, I knew it didn't look right! In my defence, it was over 20 years ago :P

I don't know about short-term, but emigration to the US is extremely difficult for UK citizens (But not the Irish for some reason). Essentially it comes down to the catch-22 situation: You can't get a work permit without the offer of a job, but no-one will give you the offer of a job without a work permit.
Unless you have $500,000 to bring in, or a particularly unique skill-set that's in demand, or have immediate family in the US, you're unlikely to get in.
At least that was the situation 10 years ago when I was looking seriously at moving to New Hampshire. It may have changed...

*nods* I know the odds on emigration are very slim, but you can get permits for short stays, which I suspect are job dependent but what the heck, I may as well give it a shot. They can only point and laugh, right? :)

As you say. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Oh, come on. Everyone knows Canada's where it's at. Seriously, Vancouver apparently heads the list of Top Ten Awesome Cities to Live In, and having stayed there for awhile, I stand by that statement.
