...I have having insane problems with Facebook and Firefox. I'm hoping someone can think of something I haven't tried yet. Something that won't involve me finding either the Facebook or Firefox developers and stabbing them with a rusty spork :P

The problem before today: Complete failure to let me use applications. I would continuously get the error "Facebook has detected blah this address blah in a way that will never resolve" and advised this was often caused by failure to accept cookies. Except it's SET to accept cookies. i've even got Facebook listed in the exceptions as an "allow", but nope, Firefox and/or Facebook refused to believe me. Clearing the cache would sometimes let me get onto an application for a while but after a period of time, if I tried to use the app again, I'd get the same error.

THe problem today: Facebook won't even let me log in! Note I can log in FINE on IE, just not on Firefox. On Firefox today, if I go to the facebook page, I'm told I need to log in. If I log in, I just get the log in page again. No error message, no wrong password message, nuffink. Just a continuous refusal to show me anything other than the log in page.

It seems like something is blocking ..something.. but I'm fucked if I know what. I've tried all the troubleshooting pages on mozilla's support sites but no joy. Uninstalled and reinstalling firefox didn't help either. Clearing all the cookies hasn't worked.

I'm at my wits end. Yeh, I can use IE for Facebook but it's feckin' annoying. Firefox worked FINE until about a week ago! There was an update, as I recall, to 3.5.3 but I did have this problem intermittently prior to that. Now it's all the time.

Halp!! Please? *clings to flist*

Can't help you w/ Firefox, but Facebook itself has been buggy for a while now. Can you contact them, or do you need to log in to do that?

Facebook's support is next to non-existent. There is a whole series of help pages that just lead you in circles, there appears to be no email help support at all, certainly no telephone support. There is a facility to report a "Bug" but they say they can't reply to them all so that's no good for here and now troubleshooting help.

Useless cretins.

Maybe uninstall and reinstall Firefox - but I shall ask Mr Tex when he comes back in from the gym.

Seems to be contagious. My computer just crashed and, in the process, ate an entire chapter of the fic I'm working on. And it was a GOOD chapter, too!

Do you have the No-Script plugin for Firefox? If so, It's the "Turn cross-site POST requests into data-less GET requests". Needs to be off.
