I'm told my baby compy lives and has been running happily for several hours now with nary a noise or a BSoD. So we'll see. The other good news is that it's under warranty until the end of this month so if there are problems, hopefully I'll know about it soon enough to get it fixed for nuffink.

Might be an idea to check the error logs, see what they say at around the time it went 'spang!' :)

OK, here goes - tech brain to the rescue!!!


Right-click "My Computer" your your desktop

Choose "Manage Computer" (or whatever the wording is :P)

You should see "Event Viewer" listed - click it!

Look through the application, security and system logs (most likely not security, but check anyway) for errors at or before the time it spanged. Keep this open, so you can refer back to it *s*

Pop the Event ID in (you can put in the source too, but it may get confused)
