Gods, I am so bored. My choices right now are filing, more filing, or lugging archive boxes down to sort out. So I thought I'd do a lyrics meme instead :P Name the song, the musical it's from and bonus points if you identify the character singing the line!

1) Listen I hate to break up the mood/Get to the point, begin the beguine - [livejournal.com profile] voluta

3) He's handsome, he's young!/ Alright, he's 62/ But he's a nice man, a good catch, true? True. - [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus

4) The folks atop the ladder/Are the ones the world adores/So boost me up my ladder, Kid/And I'll boost you up yours [livejournal.com profile] crevette

5) You can take/You can give/Let him be/Let him live - [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift

7) Why God, why this face/Why such beauty in this place/I liked my memories as they were/But now I'll leave remembering her, just her - [livejournal.com profile] voluta

8) They came out West and built a lot of fences/And built 'em right across our cattle ranges! (two characters here, I'll take either name :)) - [livejournal.com profile] voluta

9) Where a girl and a guy with a little petty cash between them/Can be sure when they deposit no-one's seen them/Oh what bliss to sign your checks as three-o-one-two-seven

10) A touch of paint, a magic nail/Can turn a kitchen chair into a Chippendale (this is a duet - I'll take either character name :)) - [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus

Off the top of my head...

2. Rent / "Santa Fe" / Angel.
3. Fiddler on the Roof / "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" (I think? it's been WAY too long since I've seen Fiddler, but it's GOTTA be).
6. Tell Me On A Sunday / "Take That Look Off Your Face" / isn't there only one character in that show?
8. Gotta be Oklahoma!, but no idea which song.
10. Calamity Jane / "A Woman's Touch" / Calamity and Katie.

Yes! Well movie Momma anyway, she was surprisingly good in that. I was all ready to hate her and she thwarted me.

Also, hello! Haven't seen you posting on LJ for an age. Everything ok?

I keep meaning to post. 70+ hour weeks at work, great stress and drama, yadda yadda. I need to post something, but I do scroll thru my FL once in a while... and since I'm a reincarnated gay man, your throwing down musical trivia drew me out like cheese to a rat trap.

1. Mountain Duet, Chess. Adam Pascal, Josh Groban, Julia Murney or Idina Menzel depending on which cast or performance.
7. Why God, Miss Saigon.
8. The Farmer and Cowman, Oklahoma.
9. Flying High Adored, Evita.

1. Correct. And those aren't the character names :) You could add the cast of the original recording to that too(Elaine Paige, Murray Head and Tommy Korberg) :)

7, 8. Correct!

9. Oooh close but no cigar! Wrong song, right musical.

I'm guessing you'd have got the Rent one but [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus beat you to it :D
