All is ticking over in the Land of Mitchy. Only fly in the ointment has been that I've managed to acquire a mild chest infection, probably from the smog I inhaled last Friday while I was busy being lost in North London. Now have pills, pills and more pills and I think I'm winning :)

The chest infection meant I didn't get out and about as much last weekend and [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus was foiled in her plans to meet me for boozing and chatting by stupid bank holiday trains. New plan is for me to go up to Nottingham last weekend in May for the aforementioned booze and chatting :)

If I feel better tomorrow, I may well do a beach run on Sunday. I'm determined to get to the beach soon, dammit, because goodness knows how long this lovely spell of weather will last. I was tempted to go today - figured there was a possibility I'd be the only one on the beach - but the weather and the chest infection made me decide to stay at home and watch the Royal Wedding instead. Which I am watching and enjoying ;) I think Kate looks gorgeous, William very happy and it's a great occasion. I blame the media for making people sick to death of it, it deserves better really.

Found a cattery for Rob the Furball for when I scamper off to the States (5th to 12th May). It looks great, I've provisionally booked it but am going over tomorrow to inspect it just to be sure. It's here - I particularly like that there's a lil' outside run he can snooze in if he wants to :)

And that's all the news that's fit to print methinkest :)

I didn't watch any of the wedding, but I did check out the dress (I am still a girl, after all.) I think Kate made an incredibly good choice. The dress is beautiful and absolutely timeless. That one is not going to look dated in ten or twenty years. (Mom thinks Kate's actually looks better than the Grace Kelly one they're comparing it to.)

I also checked out a display of hat's some of the women wore to the wedding. In general, I found most of them ghastly. I would have hated sitting behind any of them.

Living in California, I'd like to say the beach is in my near future, but probably not.

How was the cattery? When I went to Hawaii, I just left the cats in the house with tons of food, water and disposable litter boxes. (Okay, and a nextdoor neighbor who checked on them a couple times.)

The cattery was fine. Two areas, one "outside" in that it's a fenced off, covered run, but it lets him get some air and snooze in the sun if he wants to.

I can't leave him with a trough any more. He needs meds and someone to make sure he's in good health. But I never left him more than a 4 nights with a trough anyway. Usually a friend comes in but it's not practical this time.

I've been lucky that my nextdoor neighbor is a big animal lover and has been able to watch my pets when I'm out of town. I don't think Spike would have done well in a Cattery (not to mention how pissed I would have been when I was called back from Hawaii because my cat had scratched all the employees and they wanted her out.)

Sorry to hear you're poorly. My sister has a chest infection at the moment, though she's not asthmatic. Get well soon.

MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH!!

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Mads is on the mend, too. She's coming down for a couple of days tomorrow so it can't be all bad.

I'm okay, thanks. I'm at the point in this course where I can't put the work off till later, because there is no later. I break up in just over six weeks. And now I have to do all the work I previously put off till later. In six weeks. :P

I'll make it work, probably.
