I have no problems with paying for Sherlock Holmes. I'm not sure where the money goes when it's out of copyright, I know it's a complicated field. But I do not feel ripped off :)

It's something worth paying for, I agree. I'm also working my way through the Sherlock series. For paid-for versions the money goes solely to the people who format it for Kindle. And while many books are worth paying for I'd far rather take a quick look at Project Gutenberg to see if I can have it for free instead. :)
