Hawaii 5-0 (new version)

So, I know there's a couple of you at least that watch the new show and I'm curious - how close are you to giving up on it? I'm thiiiiis close to saying "Ah to heck with it." It's getting to the point where not even the pretty keeps me amused much and the stories seem to be getting worse. This week's episode was just a yawn-fest and the "sub-plot" with Danny and Grace kinda vanished without resolution, beyond me thinking Steve was right, Danny's a stalker. :P And it should have been brilliant - James Caan! Starring with his son! His character wasn't bad but eh, I saw all the plot beats within the first five minutes. Blech. Criminal waste of acting talent all around.

It's probably going to get renewed for a 3rd season but unless they figure out what the heck they're doing with the show, I'm not sure I'll be watching.

What are your thoughts, oh flist?

I came into this week's episode late, but I enjoyed it. I'm not ready to give up yet.

"Supernatural," on the other hand, may be about to get the boot...

I'm guessing from your icon (lovely, btw!) that we're talking "Supernatural." I dunno... I'm still hoping something will suddenly click, and it'll all work again, but it's like after the UnApocalypse, the writers have run out of ideas.

Oh, for a good demon/ghost-ganking episode...

LOL! Yes, we are. *sigh* Yeah, I was looking at my nephew's list of favorites (from when he was three,) "the where SamandDean fight the " I have to admit I miss a good salt-and-burn.

I went from total devotion to driftaway somewhere around the end of season 5.

I gave up on it after about the third episode of series one. I've watched a few episodes here and there, which haven't convinced me I was wrong.
Had a lot of potential, but really failed to deliver.

Wow, you're still watching it? I didn't make it through the first season. Not that I conciously stopped watching, I just kind of forgot about it.

I'm kinda stubborn that way :P I'm thinking though I should just let it go. Personally I think CBS needs to take it out back and shoot it but I doubt that'll happen. Yet.

I have different reasons for almost hating to watch it, and those have to do with actual familiarity with landmarks and place names in Hawaii.

"That plane is not approaching HNL, it's flying in the opposite direction!"

I will probably continue to watch it, since there just isn't much worth watching these days.

Ahh yes, you would have all sorts of reasons to throw things at the TV :) How is it being received in Hawaii? It's being filmed there, I understand, so I assume it's boosting local income a bit. And it seems to be one big advert for Hawaii anyway. Are the locals tolerant of it or wish it'd go 'way?

I understand the actor who plays McGarrett has injured his shoulder, and is having issues with his pain meds, so we may see some McGarrett-less scripts for a little while.

The locals are more tolerant of it than they should be. One of my students proudly announced the other day that his father had been in the original series.

LOL! The scenery is gorgeous, I thimk they might do better just to show 40 minutes of Hawaii every week (although, I do like Danno 2.0 Much better acting than 1.0)
