I have a
jenni411 installed at Chez Mousey. Hurrah! I was worried Heathrow would be a customs nightmare for her and a travel nightmare there and back but it couldn't have been more painless. I left just before 8am, got there at 8.50! Can't recall the last time I did that journey in under an hour. And by the time I got into Terminal 3 Arrivals, Jenni's plane had already landed: 15 minutes later and she was in the Arrivals Hall, took her all of 25 minutes to deplane, get her luggage and get through customs. Holy amazeballs, Batman!
After a stop for some breakfast, and a 2 hour nap at my place, we went out to watch Stevenage play an Arsenal XI (no senior players or management were there, they're all on tour in the Far East.) Good game, even though it finished 0-0, with the youngsters playing the game at a cracking pace and the new look Stevenage side starting to look like a very competent unit indeed. Vast improvement over how they played against Spurs and that was only just over a week ago! Really looking forward to the start of the season now :)
A brief shopping trip on the way home was followed by a short pit stop to check emails and FB before we went over to The Stanborough where we indulged in bacon cheeseburgers. I was a piggy and went for the 9oz burger - oooog. Still full! There was a waitressing mix up which meant it took us 20 minutes to get served so our post-meal coffee/tea was comped, which was nice. We could have had a free dessert but we were just too full!
Afterwards, I took Jenni for a short walk around Stanborough Lakes, a very short one because it was almost dark and the lakes are largely unlit. But it was very peaceful and cool and gave us a chance to stretch our legs. And now Jenni's gone to bed and I'm going to install myself on the World's Comfiest Sofa with a purring furball. Tomorrow is Coventry and the Olympic football. Yay! :)
