TV shows - round up of what I am watching

I have finally weaned myself off Hawaii 5-0 (new flavour). The pretty just didn't overcome the irritation any more - the Wo Fat storyline is being beaten into the ground and is, frankly, boring the pants off me. Bringing Steve's mother back from the dead only All Is Not As It Appears *yawns mightily* No, really, didn't see that one coming. Feh. And Scott Caan is STILL being criminally underused. So I watched the first 3 eps and then gave up and haven't missed it even a little bit. Always a sign that stopping watching was a smart move.

I'm still enjoying Covert Affairs, although I occasionally have this overwhelming urge to slap Annie silly. I'm still faintly hoping someone kicks her arse before the end of the season but given next week is the season finale, I'm not holding my breath. Burn Notice is still brilliant and if Sharon Gless doesn't nab an Emmy this time around, 'm going to be Displeased.

Blue Bloods and NCIS:LA are my happy, comfort shows :) And I've resdiscovered CSI:NY, although I suspect that's probably on its last legs. Still watching Criminal Minds but not wild about the new addition to the team, she has almost no chemistry with the rest of the cast at all. The stories have been good so I'm hanging in there. Likewise, still watching Leverage but I think this is going to be the last season and I think that's wise. I tend to save eps up and marathon them now, which usually means 'm falling out of love with a show.

New shows - Arrow. I'm thoroughly enjoying this take on the Green Arrow. It helps that there is a stellar supporting cast and the lead actor is very easy on the eye :D But I like the way they're pacing the mystery of the Arrow's origins and I like the way they're not sugar coating what he's doing. It should get a second season *crosses paws*

*petses the TV deprived*

Yes, Katie is (or rather, will/could be) the Black Canary. I have no idea if she'll actually become that character in the show but they have established that her character can kick serious arse so maybe :)

I second the recommendation of "Once Upon a Time", even if it's filled with Disney characters. (ABC, the OUaT network, is owned by Disney.) It's been pre-empted this week because of the American Music Awards and I am Not Pleased.

In a similar vein, but much darker, have you seen "Grimm"? I'm totally hooked on that one.

I saw and loved the first episode of Grimm, but it's much darker and harder to watch with young kids around. I was actually adding to my Netflix queue when Once Upon A Time came up as a suggestion and I decided to try it.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying a Wii U this weekend. It's going to be a year before I'm allowed near the TV again.

I finally got through Battle Royale! (I sent my 3 year old to Daycare on a day I had off and locked the other children in their rooms [okay, fine, they were in the playroom ignoring what I was watching in favor of fighting over the computers.])

I can see why people compare The Hunger Games to it, but there are a lot of differences as well.
