I must flail about this week's episode before I forget! Honking great spoilers under the cut: you have been warned! (Also slight spoilers for next week's ep!!!)

DOOLEY! I was growing to like you and then you had to go and die all nobly and heroically! And your last words to Carter - "Atta girl"! AUGH! *flail*

So I said last week (although possibly not on LJ, I lose track of where I've flailed), that even though we KNOW Peggy survives past this and starts up SHIELD with Stark, STILL the writers and actors manage to ratchet up the tension beautifully. And just when I thought Episode 8 had everything beat for tension, along comes this ep! Wow. I can only worship the writing and acting (and directing) for the quality of what they've achieved.

The interrogation scenes were excellent, with Peggy not giving an inch and the boys all trying various approaches. And then along comes Jarvis! Who, bless, doesn't appear to panic well. His scenes with Peggy were all outstanding and the chemistry between Atwell and D'Arcy is a joy to behold. Funniest sequence of the episode was the table in the interrogation room scene, without a doubt. And somehow that moment of levity didn't for one minute lesson the pace or tension of the episode.

Could have done without the sound effects of the Russian soldier having his leg sawn off, quite frankly. I was convinced of the Professor bloke power's well before that, didn't need to show me in quite such detail! *winces and cringes* However at least that scene clued us in for what Dooley was going through (Dooley!!) at the end with his wife and family.

[livejournal.com profile] jenni411 both now have a devout wish that when Howard shows up next week, Peggy smacks him again. In fact, I have money on Jarvis beating her too it, he was well hacked off with the damage his boss had caused by the end of this ep.

Dottie, wow, the psycho is fully unleashed now. And I guess we know know what happened at Finow. The massacre at the cinema certainly ups the stakes but I'm not entirely sure I understand yet why bother with it unless Leviathan is planning to blackmail the US Government in a "Look at what we've got and what it can do!" kind of way.

The showdown next week between Dottie and Peggy is going to be epic! Can't wait! *bounce* *bounce* But also - last episode! *WAH!*
