Oh show, just when I think you can't ratchet up the tension any more, you get me biting my nails up to my elbows. There are show writers I'd like to get by the ear, make 'em watch and go "See? SEE?! THAT'S how it's done!" :)

Note to self: get some Agent Carter icons!

I haven't seen any hints about next week's episode yet so I'm completely in the dark. I presume there's a trailer somewhere, in which case I'll probably see it on Tumblr at some point :)

Wow, it takes me so much longer to recover from a late night than it used to. Slept in pretty badly this morning, didn't wake up properly until 8.55. I have couple of hazy memories of swatting the alarm off and thinking "I must get up no..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz." Guess one of those swats turned the alarm off rather than hit the snooze button. Cue furious whirling dervish impression and hasty texting to boss of "I'm going to be laaa-aaate! Sorry!!"

And then I scampered outside and was met with a white landscape! Snow! First proper fall of the year in my area (we didn't get any lying snow at all last year) and it wasn't much to speak of, maybe a centimeter or two, and it was all gone by afternoon but things did look pretty first thing :)

Today was fueled by copious amounts of caffeine. Tonight there is going to be an earlier night and much snoring in the land of me.

And the latest episode of Agent Carter airs tonight in the US! Eeee Howling Commandos!! *bounce* I shall be stalking that episode when I get home tomorrow :D

I don't know how I stand it, I really don't.

So today I walked home from work, hopped in the car and spent 20 minutes driving a mile and a half to drop off a prescription. Yeh, the rush hour isn't usually that bad at 5.30pm but it was hideous tonight for some reason. So I decided to drive home a different way which had the happy effect of taking me past the library. And that reminded me I had a reservation on hold to collect, so I circled back around and parked and did a lightning visit. Not only did I get the J D Robb book I'd reserved, but also found 2 Laurie R King Mary Russell books I hadn't read. Hee!

Then it was home to download and squee over Agent Carter. Wow, dramatic happenings this week! I'm loving this show so much it hurts! I keep reading people going "oh we want a full series!" and "more please!" and while I'm all for a season 2, I really hope they don't sacrifice quality for quantity. It's the fact they only have 8 episodes to tell the story that makes it work so well.

Did NOT recognise Bridget Regan in this episode until the end when it dawned on me her name had been in the opening credits and..waaaaitaminute? That was her? Really?! So I'm guessing the character they introduced is going to have a bigger role which will be interesting :)

*eyes clock* Just time to watch NCIS:New Orleans before bed. I'm loving Wednesdays for TV right now :D

(I totally need a TV icon. Maybe of a couch potato :P)

Holy moly I haven't enjoyed a series premier like that since Leverage! Really fantastic job by all concerned, from the cast to the script to the editing to the lighting to the sets to the plot. There's only 8 episodes so they're not dawdling about and cramming a fair amount in but it didn't feel rushed or bloated.

If I have any gripes at all, it's I think her male colleagues need to be made a bit smarter, else it's going to be really hard to buy this as the same agency Peggy worked with during the war and which is going to later mutate into SHIELD. Yes, sexism was rife, it was a different world for women, but I don't think they need to belabour the point and I also think no good agent would ignore someone with Peggy's war record which should still count for something.

My favourite line of dialogue sadly needs a bit of explanation which would kill the joke. So have my second favourite line of dialogue:-

"Hey darlin', what's your name?"
"Agent."

The remaining six episodes are totally going to have my full, undivided attention :D
