Yay!! *cuddles her LJ* Never leave me again!
I had a good Saturday, despite lack of LJ-ness. It gave me the chance to get off the computer, thus freeing up the PC and modem for some serious downloading. Hee. I spent most of the morning/afternoon sleeping as I totally failed to get an early night having started to watch "Spooks" DVDs. And umm, finally getting to bed at 6am. Oopsie! I made sure I got some sleep though because I knew I was going out and I wanted to be conscious.
Had a good night out! Met oodles of
thalinoviel's chums at least, including
waistcoatmark. He's a bit happier about having me on his flist now he knows I'm not the suicidal wrist-slasher he thought I was :P Anyway, we started at the Hogshead on Lisle Street, but ran into problems when they stopped letting people in (something to do with not having large groups of men in pubs on Saturday nights, new Westminster Council ruling or some such twaddle). The fact that we were a large mixed group apparently didn't matter. Cretins. So we cleared off early to Questos where, after a 10 minute wait, they managed to fit all 20 of us in :) Vast quantities of food were inhaled by lots of very hungry people, during which time some people left and new arrivals joined us. I think at the end of the evening there were 22 of us :)
We then waddled over to another pub called, I think, the Captain's Cabin, where we were able to snag a couple of tables. And there was more booze and much yakking. I finally left just before closing, wanting to get back to King's Cross in time because I was fairly sure the last train was around midnight. I was close. There's a slightly later one at 12.41 that goes to WGC but after that, nada. How stupid is that? If I wanted to go clubbing in London, I couldn't, because I wouldn't be able to get home. Lucky I'm not the clubbing type really.
Unfortunately for my budget, as I was scampering back to the tube, I noticed a very large HMV store was still open and there were ooodles of DVDs on sale. Oh dear. I was fairly restrained, I got two £7.99 DVDs which I really wanted: "Ocean's Eleven" and "Daredevil Special Edition". Then I made the mistake of checking out the TV section and they had Spooks Season 2! Season 1 left on a BITCH of a cliffhanger and..and.. I was weak *sobs* It was a tiny bit more than £7.99.
*coughs* Yes, anyway, so now I'm the proud possessor of Episode 11 of "Cold Case". This is me trying to watch the episode. This is me yelling at both RealPlayer and Media Player "Whaddya mean you can't show the picture??" I hate codecs with a fiery passion. Real claims there's no updates available that will let me watch the ep. Media Player just assumes I want to listen to it. *kicks them both* So I'm downloading a couple of things that will help, I hope, and trying again. If there's no joy, expect anguished squeakings here shortly. :)
ETA: It works! It works! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! :D
