I actually left my upper school after the first year of sixth form because we moved. So then I went to college for two years. Yes, yes, that did mean I did an extra year in the system. No, it wasn't my idea. Bitter, who, me? Anyway, this meme applies to both.
[What year was it?]
1984-85 (Northfields Upper School) 1985-7 (college)
[What were your three favourite bands?]
I wasn't really into bands, per se. Did have posters of Duran Duran, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Culture Club etc. Look, it was the Eighties!
[What was your favourite outfit?]
umm.....
[What was up with your hair?]
Permed and long-ish for 84-85, bland for the rest of the time. No colour change, stayed black.
[Who were your best friends?]
School - well, I wouldn't call them "best friends" but the ones I hung around with were Sara W, Amanda F, Alison, Andrea B
College- Lesley and Debbie. Again, "best friends" is an exaggeration.
[What did you do after school?]
Avoided doing homework. Watched TV.
[Where did you work?]
College - spent a summer working at a local hotel, in the kitchens. Kept it up part time until I got my first full time job.
[Did you take the bus?]
School - no, walked. Bloody long walk too, too about 40 minutes. Though by the end I could do the walk in 25.
College - bussed, later I drove. Hee!
[Who did you have a crush on?]
Zoltan Czabai - he was lovely. There was another guy but I've forgotten his name *hangs head*
[Did you fight with your parents?]
Mum - yeah, sometimes. Stepfather - all the time. For any reason at all.
[Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?]
Prolly one of the pop stars in one of the bands mentioned above. I seem to recall swooning over John Taylor for a while.
[Did you smoke cigarettes?]
No. Vile habit.
[Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?]
Naw. At school, the locker was right outside our tutorial room. At college, I never used it cos it was too fuckin' far from the classrooms. Didn't have that many books at college anyway.
[Did you have a 'clique'?]
At college, yes, but that was accidental. At school, no.
[Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater?]
Eh?
[Admit it, were you popular?]
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaaha! No.
[Who did you want to be just like?]
One of the cool kids
[What did you want to be when you grew up?]
I wanted to be an engineer. Then I found I was crap at maths. Then I wanted to be journalist. Then, by the time I got my degree, I just wanted to be employed. Good to know things haven't changed.
[Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?]
I thought I'd be travelling around the world or in a high powered job with a nice house and car. Got the flat and the car........

Uh... phonetics, please. ;)

Um, Zoltan as spelt, to rhyme with joll-tan. As far as I can recall, his surname (which I'm totally guessing at the spelling of, btw) was pronounced "Cha-bye-e". Possibly "Kaz-bye-e", it's been 20 years or more since I heard it :)
Hmm, wonder if he's on Friends Reunited.....*goes to look* Ooh he is :) I was very close, it's "Csabai". No hints on the pronounciation though *grins*
