Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

So a friend I have on AIM, kemintiri, has a webcam which she set up the other day so that I could see her. And it worked! Thanks to my spiffy new connection, I got a reasonable picture. It was such a blast to see this person and know I was watching her in real time (signal lag permitting) respond to what I was typing!

It's cool beyond words to type something and actually see it make the other person smile.

Today she gave me a webcam's eye tour of her apartment and showed me the weather outside (which was gorgeous, I hate her). I discovered that seeing people's reactions is even better when you're telling really corny jokes and you can see them groaning in pain!*

Now I want a webcam too so that it's a two way thing. I could get a cheapie one for a tenner for now, though I don't know how well it'll work. Shannon has very kindly offered me her old PC web camera and is going to see how much it would cost to post. *bounces hopefully* I've said I can pay the postage which will be better for me, given the pound/dollar exchange rate at the moment.
