I am so glad it was only for 4 hours :P

We're now in our new office, which is bigger than our last one in the sense of length but smaller in the sense of how much storage space we have. Mostly we're working our way through boxes of stuff at the mo. Or rather, other people are. I get to loaf because hey! No lifting! :D

It was pretty painless, really, I seem to have remembered stuff ok, it's just a case of getting back into the swing of things and picking up the information that's changed.

People were pleased to see me, which was nice :)

*yawns* I am surprisingly tired though. I mean, not "OMG, must keel over and nap" tired, but I'm definitely weary. Very glad I'm doing a phased return, there's no way I'd have lasted a whole day today.

Now, I must curl up around a mug of tea *does so*

Yesterday went far to fast and I did very little beyond sleeping, nipping across to town to get some cash and buy supplies and updating the LJ with a full write up of the holiday.

Today was painful :P As I expected there was a gigantic pile of filing waiting for me at work, well over a 1000 pieces of paper all told, with the vast majority of it being VAT returns. End of year VAT returns, so practically every school sent one or more in. Gnnnng. What I wasn't expecting and what was the really nasty surprise was the paper mountain on my desk of financial returns. Bleh. Thought we were done with all those but apparently not. *sighs* So I spent all morning beating back that mountain, then all afternoon sorting out the filing. Haven't finished the filing yet, but the VAT stuff is all sorted into numerical order now so I can do the filing as and when tomorrow, in batches (0-99s, 100-199s etc) so that it doesn't seem like such a huge and horrible job.

This evening is all about the crash. There will be early night snoozing in the land of Mitchy, I think.

Gnnnnnng.

To be fair, it wouldn't have been a bad day - half the office is still out - but I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. Gave up at 5.30 and got up and pootled on the 'pooter. So I was running on about 4 hours sleep all day which makes for a tiredy, not with it at all Mitchy.

But I've had a nap for an hour and a half, and I now have sarnies, tea and a football game to watch. However, I doubt I'll be staying up past 10pm tonight. I'm shattered.

And now, a fantabulous new meme, stolen with unholy cackling from [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll:-

Don't you think Bush looks tired?
Pass it on if you get it.

Waaah! I'm in total denial that I have to go to work tomorrow. But I suppose I must. But again I say, Waaaaah!

New Year's Resolution - win the lottery ;)

New Year was seen in, in usual Mitchy fashion, with cider, pizza and DVDs. Oh and obviously I tuned into the dear ol' Beeb to hear Big Ben chime in 2006. I was deeply impressed with the firework display on the Thames. Looks like they finally realised that the London Eye is the biggest Catherine Wheel in the world and duly turned it into one for 10 minutes :) It was good being online too, I got to say Happy New Year to lots of people I consider close friends, so that was good.

Yesterday and today have been spent in the usual bone idleness, while I try and whittle down my "DVDs To Be Watched" pile. Last night I watched "Flash Gordon" (hee! "I love you, Flash, but we only have 14 hours left to save the Earth!") and Tomb Raider ("I woke up this morning and just hated everything"). Today it was "The Bourne Supremecy" plus something I haven't decided yet. *eyes time* Gotta get to bed by midnight at the latest so I'll have to pick something reasonably short. Which rules out Zulu. Maybe I'll watch Sideways. Or maybe I'll watch something tacky. I'll see. (Memo to self: Self, you need to buy a bigger bookcase for the DVDs, the small one is a teensy eensy bit overflowing....)

Also watched football today - Leeds beat Plymouth 3-0, thus maintaining 100 per cent record over the Christmas break. Bwahahahah! We might just be in with a shout of promotion this year, though almost certainly via the playoffs. Still, I'll take what we can get.

And now for more tea and denial for a few more hours :)
