Last night I actually managed a decent amount of sleep, which meant I was much happier this morning. Well, as happy as I ever am of a morning, until I've had tea :) Today it's been cooler, generally, with some truly spectacular downpours. I didn't see/hear any thunder or lightning though. Pah! I wanna see lightning and hear loud cracks of thunder! I love thunderstorms and we don't seem to get them much hereabouts. Phooey.
I have the day off on Friday, as I have to use up all accrued hours by the 16th. Not sure why, given I'm a temp and all, but I'm sure there's a good reason. Anyway, it's a good excuse to have a long weekend. I'm thinking on Friday, if the weather is as nice as the long range forecasts suggest it will be, I might get up early and head for the coast. I have this deep craving to be on a beach, with sand between my toes. There must be rock pools to explore and stuff to look at nearby. Hmm. Not sure where to go, mind. The M25 is such a horror show at the moment, that getting east or south isn't easy. I can get up to East Anglia, but to my knowledge, most of the beach towns there are pretty abysmal and I have no idea if any of the beaches are sandy. I shall have to ponder locations - any suggestions?

cookwitch, I have a craving for halloumi cheese. I meant to get some on the way home but didn't want to stop at Morrisons on my way past as I had to get over to Welwyn village to the surgery to pick up a new asthma prescription. Traffic that way gets worse the later you leave it so I choose to head straight there and get it done. I had a poke round the Tesco Express but they didn't have halloumi, not that that was a surprise as it's a really small store. But I've got yummy salad ingredients and feta cheese and will survive until I get to Morrisons tomorrow :)
Now if you'll excuse me, I must get back to watching Brazil v Croatia!
ETA: Please spare a kindly thought forjenni411. She's on holiday at the moment, a 10 day whirlwind tour of Munich, Prague, Salzburg, Venice and back to Munich. She's currently in Prague. Alas, her luggage is still in London, where she had the temerity to change planes. Send good "luggage finding" vibes, please! :)
