The first four days are pretty baseball intensive but I've tried not to make anyone's eyes glaze over and there's not much baseball wittering, honest!

I had a fantabulous time! The weather stayed patchy but Saturday and Sunday were gorgeous. I scampered around and bought too much and ate waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much but I was a very happy mousey.

Mild adventures getting home - my original booked flight was scheduled to depart at 9.15pm Sunday - when I got to JFK, I was very dismayed to see that it had been delayed and was currently listed as departing at 11.55pm. Given that was the scheduled departure based on a hopeful assessment of the flight's final arrival time in NYC, I figured it could well slip a bit later. I grumbled a bit under my breath but there wasn't anything anyone could do so I resigned myself to a 4 hour wait. Then I realised that there was an 8.20pm flight that was boarding in a few minutes. And I hatched a Cunning Plan. I waited for the flight to board and then spoke to the AA folks at the gate and explained that I was supposed to be on the non-existent 9.15 but hey! I had no checked baggage! Was there a spare seat on this flight? And there was!! The very last seat on the whole plane! Hee! And I got it :D *nudges jenni411* See! Travelling light has major benefits! :D

So now I'm slurping tea, there's cheese on toast to be chomped and then, I think, I'll HAVE to have a nap. I wasn't going to but I feel really groggy so I may indulge for an hour or two. I would have slept on the plane but it was too noisy - the reason why however will have to wait for the more detailed holiday post. Look for links to back dated entries soon!

I'm on holiday! Heee!! And on Sunday I fly off to New York for a week! Squeee!!

Sunday will be spent getting to NYC, meeting up with jenni411, scoffing food at one of my fave restaurants, Brown's Tavern (they serve cider!!), and settling in at Jenni's.

Monday we're driving (I use the royal "we" there) to Cooperstown in upstate New York to see the Baseball Hall of Fame. We're staying overnight here and toddling back to NYC on Tuesday. We're going to take our time getting there and back so it should be fun. I've never been to upstate New York :)

Not sure what we're up to Wednesday during the day, but that night jenni411, her mom and I are going to see the New York Mets v. Philadelphia Phillies at the shiny new Mets baseball stadium, Citifield! *hops up and down happily* Let's Go Mets!

Thursday jenni411 and I move into this hotel for the remainder of the stay. We don't have firm plans for Thursday or Friday, but Wolverine is featuring in there somewhere as is maybe a visit to The Cloisters.

Saturday is all about Broadway - we're going to see 9 to 5, the new musical with Alison Janney! And afterwards there will be drinks and food with a mutual friend, Mary R.

Sunday jenni411 leaves me to fend for myself for the day - oh no! a whole day in NYC, whatever will I do?! *cough* - and I fly out Sunday evening from JFK.

Monday - sleep :P

Tuesday I'm back at work. Gods, 'm gonna be knackered but it's going to be worth it!!
