So on Wednesday, I took the afternoon off and scampered London-wards, for verily and forsooth, I had six tickets for that day's recording of QI.

Work has been busy this week and I've been immensely thankful it was a short week. I've been wrestling with financial returns and as I'm not a trained accountant or even a vaguely competent mathematician, it's been a struggle. However, the end is in sight and next week, PartyGirl has bagged me to help her with the Nursery Education Grant returns so I'll be doing stuff that I'm good at :) Course, the downside to the short week is the smaller pay packet, which will go into my account the week all the bills go out. Bah. However, my tightening of belt has meant that I've broken even for another month, just, so at least I'm not deep into my overdraft. We'll see how I do after the holiday in New York :P

Last night I did a fantastic RP scene with lithium_doll and therealsherbs. lithium_doll has re-activated her mortal character, Ailen, and DAMN it was good to get our three mortal characters together again. Snark! Drama! Angst! Seckrit stuff! Heeee!!! Besides, Sherbs and LD are just fantastic to RP with and we spark off each other really well. Fun times!

And now I need lunch and more tea. And there will be more sport and more RP today. And Dr Who and baseball later. Ah loves Saturdays!!

Demon, my ISP, had a spectacular crash last night, around 7pm. Obviously two rubber bands snapped or something because I've had no internet connection at all until now. *twitches* There were temper tantrums in the land of Mitchy.....

Apologies to anyone I was talking to on AIM/MSN for bailing out without a word. Really wasn't my idea!

Luckily I was able to email itsjustaname from work this morning and she was able to find out where adelpha and kelemvor were planning to meet us. So if worst came to worst, and there was no internet connection when I got in from work, at least I knew where folks were going to be :)

And in a minute I shall be scampering off to the station to head to Waterloo and meeting of folks. QI beckons! Squeee!

Work has been ridiculously boring for the past two days. I don't have enough to do and it makes the time drag. It won't last, of course, it's only like this because the schools are closed for Easter. One of the drawbacks of working in the SCHOOL Funding Team. Does make me wonder how bad it gets during the long summer break though.

Not that I expect to be there by then but the good news is, I'm definitely there until May. The current contract I have expires second week in May and the way it's being handled is, no-one's going to say anything to the corporate job agency about my contract expiring until they do. Which, as they are several different shades of crap, may be a long time. Anyway, from what the boss said, he wants to keep me as long as possible. Which would be nice, but I really don't see what role I'd fill during the summer break. Oh well, if it gets to that point, I'll worry about it then :)

It's dead quiet in the office, generally, as PartyGirl is off (she's term time only), LowKeyD is on holiday (official holiday, not sick leave) and Beanpole is obviously now retired. With BigBouncy and BullyGirl off yesterday, it was like a ghost office. But the peace and quiet was rather nice, I have to say :)

In non-work news, I've been watching the baseball now that the season's started and I've re-signed up to mlb.com. Lovely to watch the Mets and the Red Sox again, even though there have been a fair few changes in personnel. Only three more weeks and I'll be in New York, watching the Mets in person. Woo hoo!

Yay for the long weekend coming up though, be nice to have a wee break, one where I'm not sick :) I'm off to see Aunty Eve on Saturday so that should be fun :) Hey cookwitch and co, will you be around on Saturday afternoon? I could stop in again on the way back, if you wouldn't mind, and say hi and nick tea :)

Tomorrow I must ring up about the QI tickets. I've got a big note pinned to my computer monitor to remind me *grins*
