From the cuddly [livejournal.com profile] doccy:-
1) Why cats?
Lots of reasons, but mostly I get on with them better. Plus, as a child, having a dog was never a possibility so a cat was a more likely opportunity to own a pet. Never worked but I did try :) They're independent, they don't need walks, you don't have to kennel them when you go on holiday, but best of all, there's nothing quite like that feeling when you're cuddling a soft furry kitty cat and you can feel their purring rumbling right through you :)
2) In keeping with other questions - the US of A gets accidentally mislaid, and all its' ways and means forgotten. What 2 things (a) do you want to keep, and (b) are you sad to see gone?
I'm going to assume, for the sake of sanity, that my US friends are miraculously airlifted and thus don't need saving :) So other than them, I'd save New York City, because London needs the competition and I haven't finished exploring it yet and baseball, because I need some sport to tide me over the football-less summer months :D I'd be sorry to lose US junk food, which frankly is in a league of its own, and Washington D.C, which is a fantabulous city and has the best bar in the world :)
3) The Welsh finally rebel, and crush the English Parliament under their heels! What snacks do you eat while the news comes in?
Toffee butter popcorn. It's the snack of choice at the Armageddon :)
4) WARNING: DOC-CENTRED QUESTION: What's your best (translate meaning as you see fit) memory of Meeee!!?
I have two, actually :) One is you singing along to "The Curse of Millhaven", a performance which has been indelibly engraved onto my brain and is now inextricably linked to that song. It always makes me smile :) The other is a general thing - I always visualise you beaming :)
5) Which is better - a duck, or a pigeon?
Hrm. Well a pigeon is better for delivering messages - I've never heard of a messenger duck - but a duck is a better guard dog, err duck. They make more interesting pets too, so I hear. From a culinary viewpoint, ducks are the far superior food in my opinion. Plus my fave Disney character is Donald Duck and "duck" is just a fun word to say. So duck it is! :)

Questions from the ever wonderful [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll:-
1. Would you rather be a famous singer, actress, writer or inventor and what, in your chosen field, would you want to be famous for?
Oooh. Argh. Umm. It's awfully tempting to say "Multi-award winning writer of crime novels, who's just sold the rights to her first novel to Hollywood in a multi-million pound deal" but actually I think being "Grammy award winning rock star, about to star in her first musical" would have to be the one :)
2. No hesitation, what the best book you own?
"The Right True End" by Stan Barstow. I don't know if it's the "best" in terms of literary worth (which is a tricky thing to judge anyway), but it's my favourite, right after the Diane Duane's I mentioned in my answer to Sherbs :)
3. Have you worked out the perfect murder yet?
I think the only perfect murder is one where you have no connection to the victim at all i.e. killing from range. Sadly, as I have no desire to go on a murderous sniping rampage, this theory will have to remain untested :)
4. If you had to give up all but one Xena season from the DVDs, which would you keep?
Hrm, this will need considering. One is good and I have a soft spot for two or three eps but overall? There's more weak eps than strong ones. Two has my very favourite episode "A Day in the Life" and several "Eps I've watched more than five times". Three has another very favourite episode ("Been There, Done That") but I hate the whole "Gabrielle is pregnant" thing. The latter half of that season is very strong though. 4 has some stunning episodes but I hate the direction it took the series. Five sucked and includes the Worst TV Episode EVER ("Married with Fishsticks"). Six also had some of the best episodes overall ("Who's Gurkhan", "You Are There", "Dangerous Prey" and "When Fates Collide", which really should have been the last episode shown, would have stopped a lot of fan wailing) but I hate the way they ended the show, although I didn't have the rabid fan poodle reaction of "OMGWTFBBQ! I WILL NEVER WATCH XENA AGAIN!!". Umm. Think I'm going to have to plump for 2 :) Wow, that was wordy!
5. Have you ever wanted a dog?
Yeh, I have actually, but as I said somewhere else recently, I've never had the lifestyle or the living space suitable for keeping a dog. If I ever get that house in the country, maybe :) I'd like a medium sized mutt, doesn't have to be a pure breed, just a cute pooch :)
