Oh that's priceless!

I'm waiting for the football on C5, so am idly listening to the news. I've not bothered to turn off the subtitles. Now, for pre-recorded programmes, the subtitles are excellent and pretty accurate. But for live programmes, like the news, they're not so good, as they're being typed up more or less as people speak.

Now I'm not saying I could do a better job, you understand, it's bloody difficult! But I'm damn sure I wouldn't have just typed out the following, a comment referring to Shelley Rudman winning silver at the winter Olympics:-

"..who only made it to Turin after her perv raised money for her.."

In other news, after a week of generally feeling crap, I think I've finally thrown off whatever evil lurgy was dragging me down. I didn't make it into work last Wednesday or Thursday, and wimped out on Tuesday when I woke up aching like I'd just run a marathon. But I had to drag my sorry carcass into work yesterday and I managed to do a full day, plus clear a small shitload of paper work off my desk. However, I was not myself, as noted by one or two folks, who mentioned today that I was looking a lot better - apparently yesterday I was doing a good impression of Casper's Ghost :P

What was nice was going back to a desk load of birthday cards :) Hee! I MUST take in belated birthday cake on Monday :)
