Well that was fun :)

Saturday was all about the rugby, which was thoroughly entertaining, much helped by the correct teams winning (England and Ireland). Bacon cheeseburgers may have been perpetrated and, to toast the Irish, Magners Irish Cider may have been slurped :D

Today has been about football, Time Team and finishing Bookworm Adventures. I was really pleased how well I did at BA; clearly all those hours spent trying to defeat [livejournal.com profile] kemintiri at Literati has done wonders for my spelling because I totally kicked arse this time around :D Hee!
Football was good too - I didn't see all of the Liverpool game but they were 4-0 up when I switched over for Time Team and I gather it finished 5-0. They might be a teensy bit fired up after beating Man Utd last weekend and seeing Man U lose yesterday. Just a teeny tiny bit :D

Now I'm just pondering something to while away an hour or so before I tuck myself into my pit. *fidgets* ) I vaguely fancy watching some NCIS so I might dig out my S1 box set :)

Hope you all had a fantabulous weekend!

I was most peeved with the alarm clock this morning, it woke me up in the middle of a fantabulous dream. I was one of the Leverage gang and we were in mid-job! Actually that's the second really good Leverage dream I've had this week and on both occasions I had mozzarella cheese before going to bed.......*sidles over to Morrisons, buys large block of mozzarella cheese* What? What?! :)

This weekend should be fun. I've still got my Bill Hicks DVD to watch (I got sidetracked the last time I said I was watching it), Transporter 2 arrived this week, I've got the latest Sister Frevisse mystery fresh from Amazon and it's the NFL playoffs this weekend. *sighs happily* That should keep me out of mischief :)

The only problem I have now is what do I do first? Oh wait, I know! Eat food! :D

Friday evening I duly scampered into London and met up with Rik and Carol at the O'Neill's on Euston Rd, just down from King's Cross and a few minutes walk from the restaurant. I got there early and managed to inhale a pint of cider rather more rapidly than was wise. Which is my excuse for how I managed to knock over the half Carol bought me when they arrived. It was practically full too so I'm afraid things got a bit soggy. Wisely, I opted not to get a refill!

I got the funniest birthday present from Rik and Carol - a lumberjack doll that, by dint of poking and prodding, turns into a werewolf! Basically the two dolls are joined and one gets stuffed inside the other. It's harder to do than it sounds but is very funny and I found the werewolf doll to be kinda cute and fuzzy :)

Once I'd finished giggling, we headed off to Ta-zu's, a restaurant recommended by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch. [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch? Your recommendation was spot on, I owe you one! The food was delicious and we all ate far too much of it! I had honey roast pork ribs to start, while the other two had spring rolls with sweet chilli dipping sauce. Carol amused us all by scraping up all the bits of chilli in the sauce dish onto her last few bites of spring roll and then spending the next five minutes with her eyes watering and smoke coming out of her ears. It was a bit potent, apparently *snickers*. For the main course, I succumbed to the Peking Duck - gorgeous! while Rik and Carol shared a number of dishes and Rik managed to flummox me completely by eating chicken. This is the guy I always make sure there are vegetarian options on the menu for when I book a place *eyes the Rikster*

We finally waddled off, very full, and they escorted me to King's Cross where I saw there was an express departing in twenty minutes. As there was time, I took them down to the suburban platforms so they could see the Platform 9 and 3 quarters arch and trolley that BR have set up for the Harry Potter fans. Then we said our goodbyes and I scampered off to my train (which wasn't on the suburban lines for a wonder) and Rik & Carol wended their way back to Russell Square and their hotel. All in all, a very good evening indeed!

Saturday was spent being a total slob in front of the TV, watching football and other foolish things, and there was pottering around online. I downloaded and watched the latest BSG - woah nellie! That's shaping up to be a corker of a season finale next week!

Today was almost more of the same, except that I was up and out before noon - that's a shock, I know - and did my weekly food shop. Which meant I could spent the afternoon slobbing out secure in the knowledge there was milk for tea and snacks for peckish Mitchy's :)

*stretches* And now I'm just winding down, having spent the last few hours watching the last of the MacGyver S3 DVD discs, so that I can get stuck into the Season 4 dvds next week. If I don't get sidetracked by the Starsky and Hutch stuff. Or Serenity :D

So apart from the unmitigated joy of obtaining The World's Comfiest Sofa (tm), I had a very good weekend. Saturday morning saw me visiting [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel to take her shopping at Brent Cross, where she was unleashed on the Haberdashery department of John Lewis, gift vouchers clunched in hand.

Dear gods, that girl can shop for beads ;)

Having prised her away at last, after a lenghty debate about exactly how much over budget she was willing to go and what goodies could be sacrificed (an agonising choice!) , we adjourned to JL's restaurant, which has been very nicely fitted out. There's six different counters, all serving different types of food. However, just by luck, the one nearest the entrance was the cake counter *big grin* So there was tea all round, plus a large slab of delicious marmalade cake for me and a slice of equally delicious blackberry cheesecake for [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel. Yum!

We then went and attacked HMV ruthlessly. I happily discovered that whereas the Boxed Set of the three Clint Eastwood "Man With No Name" movies is around £40+, the three movies individually could be purchased for the "3 for £20" dealy that HMV are offering. How tragic, I thought, how sad! Heh heh heh. [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel once again went through the "Do I really need this CD? Do I really, really need this cd?" thing before buying (I think) a couple of cds.

Triumphantly we head home, where I had to make a hasty departure because I was supposed to be back home for 4pm in order to take part in a role playing scene. I made it but the ST didnt, which was annoying as I'd rather not have rushed back from what was a very pleasurable afternoon's shopping. Oh well.

Sunday I did bugger all, except occasional RP and idle watching of the football.

Today was OK. A typical Meh Monday - not too busy, not so interesting it was a good day.

Antics of the Furball )

In the short term it's very amusing to watch, but I usually take pity and open the door a smidge wider for him, after I've had a good giggle :) *leans over and scritches the furball*
