Now "Pride and Prejudice" I DO want to see again, it's just such a terrific feel good experience. Does it match up to the BBC series? Not if you like your adaptations word for word, no. But dang, this movie hit all the right points for me! Keira Knightley is outstanding and finally proves she can act her little socks off. Matthew MacFadyen is a drool-worthy Mr Darcy and totally overcame my doubts about his ability to play the role. The supporting cast is outstandingly good; if there was an Oscar just for "assembling best cast" this would win, hands down. And talking of Oscars, if Brenda Blethlyn isn't even nominated, I will burn down the Chinese Theatre, I swear. Frankly, she deserves to win, but I'm not sure what the competition is like for Supporting Actresses this year. She is just superb in the role.
Mention must be made of the locations - they must have scoured the length and breadth of Britain to find the right stately homes and manor houses and brother, did they ever find the right places. If you don't drool over the scenery at least once, you have absolutely no soul :)
I really want to go and see this again - anyone on my flist interested? Great script! Witty lines! Austen! Hunky men! What's not to love? :)

I'd go, if I wasn't, like, y'know, 3,000 miles away. *ducks*
