I rang Aunty Eve tonight and I'm happy to report she sounds much better and she assured me she WAS much better. Yay! I can turn down the fretting a notch or two :) I am, however, going to go and see her one day over the Easter break *nodsnods*

Work was not fun today, there was much climbing around archived boxes trying to find misfiled things (not misfiled by anyone in our office, I should stress. We're smarter than that.). The afternoon was rounded off with the discovery of shit loads of really horrible filing. *twitches* I got half of it done, I'll finish it tomorrow. Maybe I'll feel less like killing the woman who put it in the filing tray then. See, I know filing is my job but what pissed me off was that earlier in the day, she'd brought up all the folders this paperwork had to be filed into, which I'd put away in the proper filing cradles. If I'd known she had all that loose paper crap to file too, I coulda just stacked the files on my desk and put the paperwork in as it came along, rather than having to spend a couple of hours clambering around the filing cabinets, hauling folders in and out of very tightly packed cradle files. Bah! Course, I was also just generally irritable anyway, cos it's that time of the month, so maybe it wasn't as bad as it felt at the time. It's lucky half the office is off this week, it reduces the number of people I'm likely to bite :)

The final total for Sweet Charity is in - £1675.52. That's not pledges, that's the final final total of everything that's been paid. WOO HOO! And we'd have been happy if we'd raised like £50 when this started :) Hope you saw it all, Danzy girl.

*yawns* I can see me ambling off to bed to curl up with a hot water bottle and a book, verrrry shortly. I made the mistake of channel hopping late last night, just before bed, and stumbling across a showing of "The Day of the Jackal", the 1973 original with Edward Fox and a host of "Ooooh it's wotsisname, who was thingummybob in the whatchamacallit!" type stars. Excellent, excellent adaptation of one of my Top Ten books of all time, and it was this film that made me read the book in the first place. Course, once I started watching, I had to see it through to the end, didn't I? And more to the point, when it had finished, I had the urge to re-read the book. I didn't expect to be able to find it on a casual look, as I had no idea where it was in my unique filing system, but would you believe it was on the second shelf I scanned? Clearly, I was meant to read it :D

And damn, it's still good :D
Mood:: 'sleepy' sleepy
