You know when it's the fall TV season in the US because...

....it takes forever to log into your favourite torrent site because it's so bloomin' busy.

*glares at torrent site*

In other news, I've been cranky all day. It's either PMS, or caused by the fact that I didn't wake up to my alarm clock this morning but to the sound of the torrential rain thudding off my bedroom window. Foolishly, I didn't bother to check the time, just hit snooze and went back to sleep. *sighs* 8.40am I finally surfaced!

Where, oh flist, do we get the phrase "got out of bed the wrong side" anyway?

Evil spirits were thought to lurk on the left side of one's bed. If you got out on that side of the bed, and stepped on them, they were said to get angry and essentially turn your day to crap. Or that's the best I can remember, anyway.

Not sure if this answers the question exactly, but this is what I found Googling the phrase:

If you get out of bed on the wrong side, you'll probably be grumpy all day. Some sources say the "wrong side" is the left side, because the left is often associated with the Devil. Other sources say that to get out of bed on the right side, you should get out from the same side you got in. Oh, and once you're up, be sure to put your right shoe and sock on first to fend off bad luck.

I wonder what it was with Romans and left. It was considered good luck to enter the dining room with the left foot first. Possibly because you kick the bad spirits out of the way. But then why is that better than stepping on them... :S

Well this explains a lot - I get out of the left side of the bed every day! Course, there's a wall on the right side. Mebbe I should re-arrange my room, I might be less grumpy in the mornings :)

This does indeed explain a lot *grins* *points to her answer to previous comment*

Hey... I just realized I get up on the left side of the bed every day! I should be way grumpier than I am.
