So I tried setting up OE - found I could send mail but not receive it. Snarled, and rang the Demon Helpdesk. Nice man reset my password and I returned to Thunderbird, tweaked the settings. Joy! I could download my mail! Snarl! I couldn't SEND any mail.

Still can't. I don't know what's wrong, all the settings are right, I've gone through every help file I can find to confirm it. Don't even get me started on me trying to figure out how I download mail that's addressed to "lesley@" and not "mitchy@".

I'll try again tomorrow. Thank gods it's Friday :)

Thank you. Thanks to halcyon_shift, I can now send mail but I can't do it using Demon's outgoing SMTP server. So I suspect I will have to grit my teeth through another call to the helpdesk again. Tomorrow. When I'm feeling stronger :)
