Next, let's establish that it was more a portrayal of Rain Man than actual autistic savants, who are quite rare. I did like the fact that this guy was living on his own and had a job, reflecting recent trends in care of special needs populations.

After that, we'll plug it into the Numb3rs formula, "What we think the bad guys are going after, the bad guys aren't really going after. We have to look at the pattern instead of the data points."

I just felt it was the silliest criminal mastermind plot ever. It took me a while to figure out that they found out about the boxes from the guy's cousin, switched them for their own so that they could have equipment already in the location. However, how the hell were they going to get into the location itself, which must be secure, was never actually explained. And the Charlie/Amita/Larry dynamic was well out of whack and I thought the explanation for it was lame.

I did like the scenes between Don and the shrink, but if Don gets religion, I'm going to fly to LA and set fire to the production team.

By "get religion", you mean, "Become actively involved in a Reform Synagogue, and thus more connected to his community"?

I like that they added a shadow of dimension to David's character.

It's an unecesary plot device, in my opinion, is all. It always leads to more moralising and preaching. I'm not saying religion is bad but I'd have been happier if I'd seen any sign that the family were in any way religious from the get go and I can't recall seeing that.

And yes, nice to see more of David's character. Took me a while to warm to him. I'm a big Colby fan :)

You can totally have Colby--I lay no claim to him. We'll see where they go with the synagogue. I think the last time I saw actual Jewish religion on a fictional TV series was in the 80s, and it was a children's show on PBS.
