mitchy: (Not Going To End Well)

I got up bright and early for my hospital appointment, scampered into the Outpatients Dept. at the QEII, looked at the letter I got telling me the appointment details....and realised I was in the wrong hospital. For reasons that passeth all understanding, the appointment was for Hertford County Hospital and like a dozy moron, I hadn't registered it at all. I couldn't get there in time, and I had a 10am appointment with the stoma nurse at the QEII, so I abandoned it as a bad job and had breakfast in the hospital canteen to kill some time. I'll ring up later and apologise for missing the appointment and see if I can get another one.

On the plus side, I bumped into my favourite nurse while I was in the canteen, Fiona the Staff Nurse. She recognised me and we had a happy natter for a couple of minutes. Then I scurried up to see Alison and that went well and now I'm home.

And all this before 10.30. Egads. Well it's good practice for when I go back to work, which should be the week after next, unless I bluff my way into more time off. Dunno what excuse I'd have though, I'm clearly fit as a flea which is obviously a Good Thing. Anyway, it'd be kind of nice to get back to work and get out and about, I'm just not looking forward to working with Certain Persons again. My stress levels have been a lot lower without having to deal with them every day. Still, once I'm back, I can continue hunting for a new job at County, as I don't have access to the internal job vacancy info from home.

And now there will be tea, oh yes.

Saw the doc this morning; there's been no progress and clear deterioration in my condition so she's sending me to the hospital. Should have gone this morning but I crashed hard after getting home and didn't have time to make proper arrangements anyway. So I rang Foghorn and she's going to pick me up and take me to the QEII in the morning. She also very kindly swung by on her way home tonight and brought me a box of cat food, so at least the furball's happy.

I have no idea what will happen, whether I'll be admitted or what, or if they'll just do tests and take it from there. I've made arrangements with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift to get a message put up in here if I am admitted so folks know where I am. My buddy Troo will look after the cat so that's sorted.

Maybe by this time tomorrow, I won't feel like death warmed up. That'd be a Good Thing.

OK, folks, signing off, will post again when I can.
