Huzzah, we did pretty good sorting out the NEG forms before the financial system shutdown. Only two batches didn't actually get paid but all the main claim batches went on (they're the ones that are for the most money), so every nursery should get something next week, to tide them over. The rest of the forms will have to be done as and when - the postal strike is really going to stuff us up in that regard.

So overall, we're pretty pleased with ourselves. I have one more really busy day (tomorrow) when I have to try and catch up on things a bit - *sobs* the VAT filing is hideous *sobs* - and then after that, I should at least be able to breathe in between jobs. :)

Only downer is I'm coming down with a cold. Noooo! *whines* I'm supposed to be going out Saturday lunch time to meet Rik and Carol in London. Can't be sick! *goes off to inhale Lemsips* It's the sofa for me tonight, with hot lemon drinks, a hot water bottle and the next episodes of CSI:NY and Criminal Minds to watch**. Glee! Really looking forward to Minds :)

**no purring cat tonight because every time I sneeze, he runs for his life. He hates it when I sneeze :P

ANOTHER freakin' postal strike? You have GOT to be kidding. What the hell is wrong with the post office?

It's tragically hilarious - the post office workers union is calling the strike because they still can't agree on the pay rise or the changes the Royal Mail says need to be made in order for the post office to remain competitive. I actually have more sympathy for the bosses than the workers. "So, let me get this right. You're losing money and customers hand over fist because your services no longer meet the demand. Your bosses are trying to save the company. You don't like that this will mean redundancies so you're striking. Which will hurt the company even more by driving away customers and costing them money."

Very logical.

The union position is that the redevelopment should be spent on the workforce not the structure.

*sighs* Whatever happens, it ain't gonna end well.
