Thess is still waiting to hear about her job - keep fingers crossed. She went back for a 2nd interview and it's between her and one other woman. (My offer to wait outside the offices and nobble the other candidate was politely refused.) Hopefully we'll hear tomorrow or Tuesday.

Next weekend 'm off to the beach for a couple of days. I had this urge to be Someplace Else and also really enjoyed the beach walk I had down in Cornwall. It's been a while. So I'm taking myself off to Margate and staying in a nice hotel. Hopefully the weather will be dry - I don't expect the mini-heatwave we've been having but I'll settle for "not pissing down with rain 24/7", which is asking a lot for a May bank holiday I know, but I can hope :)

Saw Robin Hood last Thursday with the ever lovely [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel. Excellent movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed the treatment of the story. We were going to grab a drink afterwards but then [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel admitted she had to get up at 6am so I packed her off home, with the promise that we would go to the cinema again half term week. The Losers will be out by then so I know what we're going to see :D

My boss is off half term week. There will be hosannas sung in honour of the occasion :D

Otherwise, all is well and ticking along as normal :)

I am in possession of my five days leave :) We tried a small experiment. FogHorn approved the holiday request, even though it said I didn't have enough hours....and it went through and DIDN'T deduct another five days off my tally. Huzzah! Also bizarre because to our knowledge, it's not done the "take hours off before approval" thing before but now that we know, 's all good :)

I had a lovely evening yesterday, I went over to my old school buddy Karen's for dinner. It's been a couple of years since I've seen the kids - they're a smidge bigger than they were :P To my horror, Karen calmly mentioned that Oliver was 10 years old now. Gnnng. That's 10 years that's gone by waaaay too fast.

Anyway, I was fed yummy food (deelicious cottage pie, yummy apple & blackcurrent crumble) and there was much, much yakking and catching up. Was a lot of fun. Next time, I'll have to lure Karen down to WGC and unleash my limited cooking repertoire on her :D The poor girl.

Work is...meh. So dullsville. But I'm not being pestered or overworked (yet) so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

And now there will be tea. And then food. Hurrah!

It's been lovely :D A whole week off *glee* As usual, there hasn't been enough time to do all the nothing I wanted to but I've managed to do a ridiculous amount of loafing nonetheless.

Tuesday was a busy day. At lunchtime I met up with [livejournal.com profile] adelpha in WGC and we had lunch at the Cork. He very kindly treated me and much food was scoffed. I had a huge plate of sausages and mash, while he tried the Cajun Veggie Burger. Tasty :) I was so full, I didn't even get hungry until about 10pm that night :P

After 3 hours of eating and yakking, we parted ways and I went home, briefly, before heading to Stevenage and Cineworld, where I eventually met up with a [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel. At the second attempt, we finally got to see Beowulf, huzzah! Good movie, once I'd stopped snickering at the unintentional comedy of a nekkid Beowulf fighting Grendel. Completely forgot I was watching CGI a few times, it was that good, and the scenes in the mother's lair are just amazing. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen if you can. I have no idea how close to the story of Beowulf it was, as my knowledge of that work is pretty hazy, but they seem to have fashioned a rollicking good yarn anyway, so give it a whirl :)

After that, there was lots more loafing until today, when I ambled over to the hairdressers and had the mane shorn to a sensible length and tidied so it'll be more manageable. I'm pleased with it, they haven't cut it too short which is often a gripe I have, and it does look good. Plus it's not in my face as much which pleases me :)

And now there's only 2 and a half days of my holiday left. Woe. My life is so hard. Ah well, best get back to it. These Numb3rs dvds won't watch themselves, y'know :D

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, I remembered to scamper to the pharmacy in time to pick up my asthma prescription so that - hurrah! - I'll have it for the long weekend (I find being able to breath improves my enjoyment of time off) AND! AND! I have five whole days off! *gloats* no work until Thursday and even then it won't exactly be a hardship as there will only be four of us in next week :D

PLUS! PLUS! Today I meet a [livejournal.com profile] thessalian in WGC and "drag" her to The Cork for booze and food and happy yakking :) Then on Tuesday I will see an [livejournal.com profile] annuala and an [livejournal.com profile] elfsausage in London for touristy fun. Hurrah!

Yes, I think this is worth breaking out the Happy Mitchy Boogie icon for. *boogies like a Happy Mitchy*

I am a knackered wee mousey. So I've taken today off too. I should have planned this from the start really, it seems silly not to have a decent break. After all, it's not as if I've got any holiday scheduled this summer so hey, a bit of a break will do me good.

I will, however, have to be very, very good and make up the 6.5 hours I lost today next week and the week after. Which is relatively easy to do, just tedious when we're not frantically busy. However, we start processing the Nursery Education Grant Adjustment forms next week so that should keep things ticking over nicely :)

Right, I'm going back to bed. Laters!
